Knowledge can be of two types – general or specialized. You could know something about everything or everything about something – to put it simply.
In Think and Grow Rich, Napoleon Hill talks about how general knowledge is of little use when accumulating wealth. Knowledge only generates money when it is directed towards a specific end. So, to become successful and acquire wealth in life you must have special knowledge of the field you work in.
Now, your intellectual capabilities might not be able to learn everything in your field. So, for that purpose, you can find people who possess specialized knowledge about that area.

With specialized knowledge comes ideas, and with imagination, you can turn those ideas into organized plans that yield riches.
Most wealthy people possess specialized knowledge in at least one field and then capitalize on it. Whatever else is required, they hire others to supplement. This gives them credibility and the power to innovate in their field, making them more likely to be successful than someone who just has the general knowledge that cannot be put into action.
