As a society, we tend to focus on the big results. We zone in on the incredible achievements of people and the successes that make headlines. We love celebrating them and we should. But what often goes unnoticed are the small steps that had to be taken by those people to get to where they are now. Small events in our lives often add to big results. Let me show you what I mean with an example-

Dave is a hard-working father. He does his job with dedication, where he is often working overtime so that he could buy his family better amenities at home. Due to this, he comes home late and often crashes into bed immediately. The mother and the children eat dinner by themselves and the children grow distant from their father day by day.

Now let’s look at an alternative scenario.

Every time Dave comes home, he gives his children a hug and spends 10-15 minutes asking them about their day. It’s not much time but it shows them that he cares about them. As a result, the children grow up to appreciate their father, his hard work and also remember how much he loves them.

What is the difference between these two scenarios? Well, it’s one simple change to his everyday routine. That’s all that was needed to produce a significant result in Dave’s life.

This applies to all of us. And in almost everything we do. Just 30 minutes every day, you will see how learning a new skill can get you a job that will pay you 10x more than your current one. A decision to cheerfully greet your juniors at work every morning can significantly improve their motivation to work that day.

You don’t have to switch up your life overnight. That thought is what overwhelms you about change – it’s the idea of the huge overhaul which puts most people off. All you have to do is make small changes today that will take you where you need to go.

What kind of life do you want for yourself?

You can have that life just by making small changes today. Once you let go of the need for instant gratification, you will realize that success does come eventually to people who shift their mindset positively.

So don’t underestimate your small efforts. They are taking you to the life of your dreams.
